As many fans probably expected, the final installment in the 'Five Nights at Freddy's' PC game franchise came earlier than expected, now available in the Steam store.
Last week, FNAF World launched on Steam early, surprising everyone. A day later, Scott Cawthon, its developer, apologized for rushing the game and pushing it out on Steam without important features. The unexpected result however was the overwhelming negative response.
Shortly after the slew of negative reviews for 'FNAF World,' creator Scott Cawthon posted an official apology for the game on Steam. In the apology, Cawthon specifically explained to fans that he believes this is one instance where he shouldn't have released the game early.
'I've been accused on rushing my games ever since FNaF 1, but I've never felt that I'd released a game too early . . . until now,' said Cawthon.

'I got too eager to show the things that were finished, that I neglected to pay attention to the things that weren't. I'm going to fix this, and I'll be updating the game with these features in the coming weeks.'
The features that Cawthon thinks are lacking in 'FNAF World' are related to RPG specific details that he did not include in this first pass of the game.
'There are a lot of features that this game should have had before release, features that I was told about, but ignored and didn't implement. Features such as being able to see what abilities do during battle, or being able to see a stats page for your characters. These are features that any good RPG would have,' explained Cawthon.

As for the criticisms, Kotaku's Patricia Hernandez cites the 'constant random encounters' and 'grating preppy music' as her reasons for not liking the game.
Despite the negative responses, the game is surprisingly still being well-received by others. So far, it has 644 positive reviews on Steam, with some finding the game charming and fun overall.

Though it is clear that some may always dislike Cawthon's 'FNAF World,' it appears that even the negative reviewers can respect his willingness to own his mistakes.
